Appearance: Gideon is not the type of person you look at and think "angelic being". You're more out to think that he's a drug addict or a drunk. His lanky frame is 6' 4", with
dark hair and bright blue eyes. He always looks as if he's lost his razor. He doesn't have the common youthful appearance as most angels do. Instead he looks as if he's in his late 40's.You'll never see Gideon dress up. Even if he has a suit jacket on he'll have jeans on with it or a t-shirt on underneath of it.

Angel wise, Gideon has a large pair of black wings; the tips of the primary feathers are grey. When they are 'stored' Gideon has twin scars in the shape of an X on each shoulder blade.

Personality: Arrogant, selfish, perverted, pig headed, and cynical are just a few of the words that have been used to describe Gideon. Jerk's a pretty common word used also. Gideon is full of himself and usually has an insulting comment about someone. If it's not an insulting comment then it's usually a sexual one. He's a glass is half empty kinda guy who lives for sarcasm. Happy's not a word one uses for Gideon. Cranky is more like it.

Deep down under all that is a loveable teddy bear...not. Gideon doesn't feel a need to pretend and hide who he really is. What you see if what you get. If you don't like it, well Gideon really doesn't care what you think. He'll be sure to let you know what he thinks, but if you give your option he'll be sure to shoot it down. To those few people he does like, well, he'll still insult you, but at least he'll be willing to look out for you.

Special abilities/talents: Gideon has wicked gaming skills, which may one day come in handy if the world is coming to an end and can only be stopped by someone with thumbs. He also plays guitar and no we're not just talking Guitar Hero. Ask him to play Stair Way to Heaven and he's going to smite your ass.

Power(s): Instead of being a guardian of a person, Gideon is the guardian of the gate to hell. It's his job to make sure no one finds it and to makes sure things get taken care of if they manage to sneak out. He can feel when the gate is stirring. Should it ever open completely he would know it. Not only would he feel it, but if it opened and stayed that way, Gideon would die.

Gideon actually has the ability to 'smite' evil beings. He can produce a blessed lightning bolt to hit evil beings (and those that piss him off).

History:
Gideon was one of the first to arrive in Mysteria in the year of 1884. He was a young angel at the time at the age of eighteen. There was a force that drew him. The first few weeks he had no idea what it was that had brought him there. Then he found it. It was a gate to a hell dimension and it was clear that it needed guarding against those that would come after it.

For a while living in a town that notices you don't age wasn't a problem. Then the humans started to settle into the supernatural town. Gideon would have to find those that could do a spell to alter his appearance for a time until it was safe to go back to being himself. In recent years, the town folk just over look that Gideon looks the same, mostly cause he helps keep the bad stuff down.

About seventy years ago the gate started to open. Gideon managed to close the gate and stop the demons that had tried opening it, but the whole thing was a drain on his power. It aged him physically, giving him the appearance that he has today. During this time the town turned into a warzone against the beings that had came out if. It was a supernatural team up as the town joined together in the fight.

About ten years ago, Gideon opened a bar called The Last Round. It was more of a base of operations then a business. Sure, it works just like a normal bar, but most hunters in the now know that if you stop by that Gideon usually has some type of job. It makes Gideon's life easier because it's less mess that he personally has to take care.

Flaws:
Gideon is a loner. Sure he has the people who work for him that he interacts with and he's more than happy to tear down anyone stupid enough to try talking to him, but Gideon doesn't have anyone close to him. He can count the number of friends on one hand and still have fingers left over.

Because he is a guardian of a set thing and not a person, Gideon is tied to Mysteria and can't leave. He could, but then if something happened with the hell gate he'd be knee deep in trouble. So unless the hell gate suddenly moves, Gideon will be staying in Mysteria.

Gideon's attitude usually leaves people thinking "man, what an asshole". And, well, he is. He doesn't leave good first impressions and as time goes on that first impression was probably the right now. If you ask about him, people around town will be happy enough to you what a jerk he is and that it's usually best to steer clear of him.

Gideon suffers from migraines from time to time. He swears up and down it's from being surrounded by idiots. It might really be the hell gate lashing out at him. Either way if you find him hiding in a dark room then you know another one has hit.

Merits:
Gideon knows what you are? What am I talking about? You know what I'm talking about! He knows if you're a supernatural creature and just what kind of creature you are. He has a supernatural sight that allows him to briefly glimpse upon first meeting someone what they truly are. It's like a series of pictures spring to mind that gives him hints as to what you are. It's up Gideon to piece those pictures together. If it's a race he's never came across before, the longer it takes him to figure out.
